Seasonal Public Works Employee

 

Fillmore City is accepting applications for a seasonal Public Works Employee.  Hours may vary depending on workload.  Starting wage $19.00/hour.  Position includes a variety of routine to complex maintenance duties including but not limited to streets, sidewalks, parks, cemetery, airport, water lines, and sewer lines.   

 

JOB SUMMARY:  Works under the direction and general supervision of the city public works director.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS;

• Resident of Fillmore
• Trustworthy, dependable, accountable, responsible, and thorough
• Physically able to bend, climb, lift weight up to 75 pounds
• Ability to obtain commercial driver’s license (CDL)
• Safety conscious
• Self-motivated
• Timely response to after hour emergencies
• Ability to operate and maintain city equipment
• Ability to use hand tools
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor
• Is positive, optimistic, even tempered
• Relates well with people – other employees and the public
